The Morphine In The Melody

Episode RV38 of SHHRP

On this episode of The Sober Happy Hour | Radio Podcast! the guys discuss music! But this isn't just another music review podcast or record spinning Disc Jockey show, this is SHHRP. We take a deep look inside the mind of the addict artist. From David Bowie, Sublime, D'Angelo and The Cranberries to the Stones and Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots, we talk all things songs about drugs.

The artistic soul can be a tortured one. Why do musicians find escape in drugs and alcohol, seemingly to excess, more often than those of other artistic outlets? Or do they not?

Some of my favorite songs are songs about the struggles of addiction. Even before I knew what addiction was.

This episodes musical break is a song called "What You've Done" by Arbor Circle. I will be trying to upload all of the Arbor Circle catalogue to YouTube in the coming weeks to link you guys to the tracks we play. It is for copyright reasons we cannot play commercial songs. If you of someone you know wants to get your music played on an episode of SHHRP, we are happy to listen to what you've got and play what we enjoy.
